The Avantgarde - Dolores Del Rio - Art Déco of the 1930s
Dolores Del Rio was an silent-film star, born in Mexico and married with Cedric Gibbons, the art director of MGM studios.
He has designed his own house in Santa Monica with the decadent and visual Art Déco style including Avantgarde notions of architecture and design in order to show his wife as a glamorous film star with luxury interiour design in the background.
Not infrequently he has turned movies with his wife at home by showing the perfect design.
This kind of new modern and very american design in the 1930s was a look of exotic travel, endless cocktail parties and minimalism.
The luxury style of Art Déco, an combination of art and architecture has looked like limitless money, influenced of the American cinema in order to change the taste of the society...

David Bowie is one of the most referenced musician in fashion history. The costume design of "Ziggy Stardust" for David Bowie´s performance on stage belonged to Kansai Yamamoto who was also known for his avantgarde kimono designs. His japanese style was more than just fashion.

The world of Guy Bourdin
The french fashion photographer Guy Bourdin has shown the connection between fashion and art by showing two great themes: desire and death.
If we take a look at his legendary pictures we could see a lot of extreme provocative positions of the models in order to get noticed in the first place and to encourage the viewer to think in the second instance, shown in dark fairy tales and horror stories.
In the year 1967 he has shown three slender legs dressed in satin slippers.
In direct comparison there´re many things in common with the work of photographer Helmut Newton....

Louis Vuitton´s history in fashion design
Louis Vuitton has created his first piece of luggage in 1858. The material he has used was canvas.
The original luggage was coloured grey to look as elegant and appealing to as many people as possible.
After few years Louis Vuitton has changed the style and color of the bags because a lot of duplicates have started to appear on the market.
At least the LV label has introduced the Monogram Canvas by patenting it wordwide.
The Monogram Canvas had many graphic symbols, inspired of oriental designs in the Victorian era including flowers, quatrefoils and the LV monogram.

Art meets Fashion - Delpozo spring collection 15
The creations of the spring 15 collection of Delpozo were most fantastical by using sculptural shapes and couture-like fabrications.
The extreme proportions of the sportswear were shown by pairing structured jackets and crip tops with wide-legged culottes or trousers.
The highlight of the fashion show was the contrast between the materials of the shiny vinyl with chiffon on skirts and at least with the embroidered tulle which reminded us of the artists work of Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka.
