The House of Worth - Retrospective into Fashion History

Charles Frederick Worth was the founder of his own business named "House of Worth" in 1858.
Born in London he went to Paris in 1845 in order to materialize his idea of a design company by showing seasonal collections with artistic results which was the birth of Haute Couture.
Inspired of historical characters like Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution he has awakened resist certain characters including the comedy or tragedy of them by showing their appearance with wonderful creations. Even the actors of the theatre on stage influenced him in his creativity by using expensive materials like silk and brocade.
He was famous for his wonderful gowns with the certain ancient design optics....

Emile Pingat - Fashion History

Emile Pingat was a designer who was born in 1820 in France.
In fact he wasn´t well known as Charles Frederick Worth but being active the same time between 1850 and 1896.
Even publications of the New York Times and Harper´s Bazaar have consistently mentioned the two couturiers in the same sentence about their work.
But at least it was Charles Worth who was hnown as an famous fashion designer of the 19th century until now.

Emile Pingat has designed a variety of ball gowns and mantles including opera coats, small capes and jackets by using wool and colored silk in combination with fringe and lace....

The highlights of the Fashion Week

The fall/winter collection of Dolce&Gabbana 16-17 is a story full of fantasy.
The motifs of the fairy tale like mirrors or castles let us dreaming of a world full of fantasy in order to live like a princess, seen on velvet dresses with the same bag as individual accessoire.
The highlight of the whole collection is the embroidered coat with large flower motifs in 3D-optics in combination with a lace silk dress.
The final ends with the business look including suits, coats and jackets with buttons by wearing finest jewelry like chains which have an individual touch.

Balmain has started the Fashion Week with soft colors, seen on transparent and embroidered jumpsuits with ruffles in combination with bustier and corset tops by using keypieces like width gold-colored belts for a tailored silhouette.
The highlight of the show were antique jacquard bustier dresses in combination with suede overknee boots.

Chloé´s gypsy look including ruffles on silk and transparent dresses with embroidery in combination with boots has played the romantical part of the show.
The highlight of this collection were printed wool coats in order to show a new interpretation of modern gypsy style.

Elie Saab has shown romantic printed and batik dresses in combination with black leather jackets with paillettes.
The highlight of the show was the bordeaux-colored leather handbag including nappa fringes and braided flap in combination with a bordeaux-colored blouse and a cardigan with paillettes and finest embroidery.

Valentino has presented elements of the dance costume wear like the ballerina dress by using shiny and colored paillettes in combination with a one-colored roll neck sweater.
The final ends with a transparent silk dress with finest embroidery.

Chanel has started the fashion show by presenting tweed-bouclé costume suits in combination with denim wear for a casual look by using pearl necklaces as keypieces....

Héléne Rochas style

Héléne Rochas, called with real name Nelly Brignole has studied dance and acting before marrying the fashion designer Marcel Rochas.
With her beautiful and graceful appearance she was her husband´s muse and model.
After the death of Marcel Rochas in 1955 she has managed his perfume brand to an international company.
Definitely Héléne Rochas has developed her own style of modern elegance and classic to become an worldwide icon by inspiring of fashion designer like Hubert de Givenchy or her friend Yves Saint Laurent....

Armani´s interpretation of Kandinsky

Giorgio Armani has shown his relevance to a younger generation with his new collection by presenting colorful geometric shapes like rectangles, circles, squares and also triangles on blazer jackets, dresses, skirts and blouses in combination with black clothing as contrast.

This kind of popart and digital designs remind us to the artwork of Wassily Kandinsky who has worked with colored motifs by using exactly the same geometric shapes.

Marianne Faithfull´s 60s style

Marianne Faithfull was an british actress, singer and fashion icon.
She has captured the attention of millions of people by presenting such an originality style of vintage clothing called "boho look."

Her career as an musican has started when she was discovered by Roling Stones´ manager Andrew Loog Oldham with her song "As tears go by".
Later she has a relationship with Mick Jagger.
This time she became a notorious component of the scene in London by presenting her individual vintage looks.
One of her favorite outfits was the black leather jumpsuit in combination with a fur jacket she has presented in the movie "Girl on  a motorcycle" with Alain Delon in 1968 which was an example for her original style....

Fashion Week Paris - part 2
The Fashion Week has continued with wonderful dresses of designer Zuhair Murad by presenting fairy dresses of tulle and silk with flower motifs and embroidered applications.
The "all-in-white" combination including coat and pants of silk with a lace top and silver-colored belt  was the highlight of this collection.
The red colored bodice and corsage dress of crepe in combination with embroidered applications reminds us to the collection of Jean Paul Gaultier in the past.

Indian spirits has influenced the haute couture collection of Elie Saab ss16 by showing embroidered dresses of tulle and silk with fine mesh inserts in combination with silver-colored accessoires.

Valentino´s collection has provided a lot of variety by presenting a silk dress with dragon print, a silk kimono coat with gold-colored prints of orientalism and wonderful silk bodice dresses with printed applications in gold color and asymmetrical cut which reminds us to the Greek Antiquity.
The powder rose-colored tulle dress with arabesque applications was the highlight of Valentino´s haute couture show.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Dior have presented the best runway show in this decade.
The models of Jean Paul Gaultier´s haute couture show have danced on the catwalk by presenting amazing small hats in combination with casual pyjama suits.
Dior has shown costume suits and blazer jackets of silk in combination with embroidered dresses of silk and crepe by taking the spatial equipment with the music of electropop and -house to a dancefloor as whole attraction....

Fashion Week Paris 16 - part 1

During the Fashion Week in Paris Chanel has started the haute couture spring/summer 16 show on a huge green space by showing fairy dresses of tulle with pompons, pailettes or flower plugs, puffed sleeve, fine mesh inserts and embroidered applications.

The artsy haute couture collection of Giambattista Valli - SS 16 - has presented bodice dresses of tulle and crepe by taking the visitors into a world of fairy tales and fantasy.

The Balmain homme collection - Fall/Winter 16 - has shown marine styled jackets with golden buttons or check pattern with golden inserts in combination with black leather gloves.
The women show has presented victorian dresses with embroidered pearl, pompons or shiny applications.

Versace has played the main part of the Fashion Week by showing a white colored and stitched sundress with insights permissive and linked by cords in order to emphasize the erotic part of a woman.
Model Gigi Hadid has confirmed this by wearing a darc tailored suit with silk inserts and liberated side panels. ....

Plein soleil - Alain Delon by Bella Clement

The costume designer Bella Clement has designed the stylish wardrobe for the french actor Alain Delon in the classic movie "Plein soleil" - "The talented Mr. Ripley" from 1960, who has perfectly played the part of Tom Ripley by showing a complex character without any words to say.
Nobody has embodied french style like Alain Delon in this decade.

Alain Delon´s first appereance has shown masculine effortless elegance with a relaxed and even rebellious feel by wearing a blue shirt in combination with white jeans and brown loafers.
Later in this movie we can see suits of elegance which reminded us to Marcello Mastroianni´s part in "La dolce vita".
Alain Delon and Maurice Ronet have shown this kind of lifestyle by being cool in their looks and manners and obviously having fun.

La dolce vita by Piero Gherardi

The movie "La dolce vita" from 1960 of Frederico Fellini has shown the glamorous and extremely licentious lifestyle of the high society in Italy.
This movie was shot in black and white in order to show the oppositions between the old rural way of life and the new modernising Italy after the end of Facism and the Second World War.

The costume designer Piero Gherardi has created the designs for Marcello Mastroianni and even for Anita Eckberg by showing her female side with the strapless black dress in combination with a white mink stole.
Her sexiness by presenting her blonde locks, fuller figure and American accent juxtaposed with the old Rome and even with the famous scene in "La dolce vita".

Marcello Mastroianni has worn the perfect casual suits by presenting the modern masculine style of the Italian man. He has played the part of the journalist who was fascinated of the decadent lifestyle of the high society....

Jean Patou 1950s design - romantic retro look

Jean Patou was a french fashion designer who was famous for his dresses in the 1920s.
After his dead in 1936 this label was still popular during the 1950s and 1960s decade with Karl Lagerfeld and also Marc Bohan, who was the head designer for Jean Patou haute couture collections from 1954 until 1956.

One of his favorite designs was a wonderful cocktail dress in 1955 which was littered with pearls, sequins and floral motifs...
